Kia India is set ot launch 3 brand-new electric cars in India soon
Kia is gearing up to launch its new portfolio of high-end electric cars in India that are set of 2024-25 launch. These new cars will compete with the growing EV market in the country. The Korean giant is set to launch three brand new cars in India starting with its Kia EV9, the brands flagship SUV, followed by the new Kia Clavis EV, and the Carens EV stated for India launch soon. Let’s take a look at Kia’s upcoming brand-new EVs in the country and look at what the brand has to offer.
1. Kia Clavis

The ICE-powered Kia Clavis has been spotted undergoing testing on the Indian roads and is set for a global debut this year. The upcoming Clavis will feature a rugged design inspired by the latest Kia Soul and will target customers with its lifestyle-focused appeal. The Clavis won’t include specialized off-road components and will be focused on everyday driving and practicality.
Positioned above the Sonet compact SUV, The Clavis EV will offer a spacious interior and a larger boot along with tech loaded cabin filled with comfort and modern amenities. The electric version of the Clavis is set to debut by end of 2024 or starting 2025.
2. Kia Carens EV

Kia is set to launch its much-anticipated Carens electric car in the latter half of 2025. Based on a Carens MPV, the electrified version is set to offer several bits and quirks with its facelifted design along with several key elements separating it from its ICE counterpart. This e-MPV is likely to share components with the electric Clavis and will offer single and dual electric motors, delivering a driving range of up to 400 Km on a single charge.
The collaboration with Indian battery manufacturer Exide will play a significant role in developing this family-oriented electric MPV. Kia’s partnership will result in more localised parts for its EVs, instead of relying on sourcing them from other countries.
3. Kia EV9

Kia will also bring its flagship electric SUV, the EV9 in India which is set to launch by this year or early 2025. The fully electric SUV was initially introduced in global markets last year and is set to make its India debut soon. The EV9 packs a large battery and can deliver a driving range of 541 km on a single charge.
It will offer both single and dual electric motor setups with options from an RWD or an AWD configuration setup. Built on the E-GMP platform the architecture is built for dedicated electric cars for both Kia and Hyundai. The EV9 promises a low centre of gravity and design flexibility and is among the most high-tech and luxurious the automaker has created.
