The Indian automaker is working on a new electric hatchback, launching soon after the eVX

Maruti Suzuki India’s largest automaker is working on a new electric hatchback for the Indian market. The company plans to offer a range of electric vehicles in different price segments.

With the launch of the new 4th-gen Swift, the automaker plans to launch a new electric hatch for its biggest market.

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to expand its electric portfolio in the country with the launch of a variety of EVs in different segments.

Starting with the upcoming eVX, the brand has stepped into the world of EVs, further expanding it by introducing a new electric hatchback in the market as a strategic move towards electrifying its portfolio.

Maruti’s upcoming electric hatchback will take inspiration from the company’s eWX concept showcased back in the 2023 Japan Mobility Show.

The automaker plans to achieve annual 10 lakh sales by 2030 from the current 7 lakh sales. With declining sales, the automaker’s YoY sales grew by 11.3% to 10.7 lakh units in FY24.
