India’s highly competitive midsize SUV segment is set to witness new EVs from popular brands such as Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, and Mahindra. The competitive segment in the market will make new vehicle entry in the market that are set to further intensify after the new offerings from the popular brands. Let’s take a look at the top electric cars launching soon in India.

1. Mahindra XUV.e8

Mahindra’s upcoming XUV.e8 is set to make its India entry in early 2025. Based on the company’s INGLO platform, the XUV.e8 will serve as the electrified version of the XUV700. The electric SUV will offer a duo of electric motors with single and dual electric motors offering both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. It will pack a large 80 kWh battery pack and will deliver a power output ranging from 227 to 345 bhp.

The XUV.e8 will offer slightly larger proportions compared to the XUV700. The near-production test mules of the XUV.e8 have been spotted on Indian roads. The Design includes vertically stacked LED headlamps, full-width LED DRLs, redesigned new alloy wheels, and standard features such as ADAS and 6 airbags and more.

2. Hyundai Creta EV

Hyundai’s first mass-market electric car for the Indian market, the Creta EV has been spotted testing on Indian roads. After the launch of its Kona EV and the Ioniq 5, the Korean giant is also focusing on offering a midsize premium EV for the Indian auto market.

According to media reports, the upcoming Creta EV will pack a single electric motor delivering a power output of 138 bhp and 255 Nm of peak torque. It will pack a large 45kWh battery and will deliver a range of upto 450 Km on a single charge. The design ques will be similar to the latest Creta Facelift model the automaker has launched in India but with several EV-specific features and elements.

3. Maruti Suzuki eVX

Maruti Suzuki is also working on its first EV launch in India after unveiling the eVX at both the Tokyo Motor Show and the Auto Expo. The eVX is set to make its India entry in 2025 and will offer a brand-new experience from the Japanese automaker. Built on Toyota’s 27PL platform, the electric SUV will offer a brand-new design along with a futuristic interior and stunning new technology. It will pack a large 48-kWh battery capable of delivering a range of over 550 Km on a single charge.
