Newly Launched Xiaomi SU7 Facing Several Issues & Breakdowns

Xiaomi recently launched its SU7 electric car while customers have experienced several issues with their new EV

Xiaomi recently debuted its first electric car, the SU7 globally. But since its launch, the electric car has faced a storm of complaints and concerns regarding its build quality and reliability. Multiple owners have reported issues shortly after buying the SU7. While some have experienced breakdowns after just a few kilometres into their ownership. These complaints have raised questions about Xiaomi’s SU7 electric car.

New Car, New Problems

Soon after its launch, the Xiaomi SU7 has been around in the negative aspect of the community with multiple quality issues and several breakdown situations. One incident is where a blue SU7 EV died while driving on the highway, concerning its reliability. Another incident came when an SU7 owner faced a breakdown while just driving after 39 Km. The EV displayed several warnings that led to a sudden stopping of the car, resulting in a faulty drive system and unable to shift between reverse and drive. Despite several attempts to diagnose the issues, the technician wasn’t able to fix any of them.

Both cars are now stated for returning to the factory to completely resolve the issue. Customers have also requested a replacement of their SU7 while Xiaomi has assembled the models that have already been allocated to the customers leaving the customers stranded. Xiaomi has committed to arrange a full refund for the faulty cars and will compensate for any expenses incurred by customers.

This situation has broadened the eyes of many people regarding the car’s reliability and quality. Especially with new reports where the car’s major functions are not responding. Several reports have emerged regarding the car’s safety and reliability making the brand’s reputation and trust towards its vehicle to test.

Long Waiting Period

The company has also made a statement regarding the car’s AEB not working and has made efforts to fix that via a software update. This is not the first time that Xiaomi SU7 has faced major issues. It includes extensive waiting periods for deliveries, accusations of failing to honour the money-back guarantee and reports of several crashes were some of the incidents. Customers have experienced a waiting period of 18 to 21 weeks for their vehicle. While the top-spec SUV Max has a waiting period of 30 weeks or around 8 months to get their vehicle at their home.
