Tata Motors will be launching its upcoming Altroz EV in 2025
Indian auto giant, Tata Motors’ EV subsidiary is gearing up to launch its next generation of electric cars in India by FY25. Among them, is the Tata Altroz EV, set for launch next year in India. Showcased back in 2019, the Altroz EV is set to offer the brand’s brand-new EV platform and tech-loaded cabin.
Facing the Hurdles & Dominating the Segment
The exciting EV launch faced several hurdles over its development due to several factors. The upcoming Altroz EV offered a reduced ground clearance with its battery under the floor along with several other factors due to its design elements with its electrified powertrain and reduced ground clearance in its segment.
During its development, Tata Motors launched its Nexon.ev, Tiago.ev, and the new Punch.ev. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Business MD, Shailesh Chandra clarified the upcoming Altroz.ev is set for a 2025 launch. The electrified Altroz will be rocking on Tata’s new Acti.ev platform similar to the upcoming Harrier.ev and the Safari.ev stated for the 2025-26 launch. Tata Motors’ new pipeline for electric vehicles offering the company’s battery packaging issue getting resolved.
Tata Altroz EV Powertrain & Price
The upcoming Tata Altroz EV will offer a single electric motor making a little over 82 hp and 122 hp from the Punch.ev. The Altriz Electric will offer an MR and an LR range variant, packing a 25 kWh and a 35 kWh battery pack. The medium-range variant will deliver a driving range of 315 Km and the Long Range variant will deliver a range of 421 Km on a single charge.
Talking about the price, the upcoming Altroz EV will be priced between the Punch.ev and the Nexon.ev price bracket. According to several reports, the upcoming Altroz Electric will start at Rs. 10.99 Lakh for the Medium Range variant and Rs. 15.49 Lakh for the Long Range variant.
