Mahindra to launch its new XUV.e8 electric SUV in India by 2025, deliveries to begin by March-April
Mahindra to soon launch its brand-new XUV.e8 in India after its prototype debut was showcased last year. It will share its similarities with the XUV700 and is expected to launch in India in early 2025. Mahindra is also working on its BE range along with the XUV.e range for the Indian market, further expanding its electric portfolio. The automaker is poised to offer its first EV for its new expansion plan starting next year. Mahindra’s XUV.e8 was poised to launch in India in 2024 it has been postponed to an early 2025 launch now.
Recently, a test prototype was caught testing on Indian roads which shared glimpses of the future e-SUV from Mahindra. After the launch of its new XUV 3XO, the automaker is planning to launch its XUV.e8 soon, competing with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX, CItroen Basalt EV, Tata Harrier EV and the Hyundai Creta EV. The test vehicle shows its upscale design and long wheelbase with a curvy and boxier design with new DRLs and a no-exhaust system with its electric powertrain.
New Design & Interior
Mahindra’s upcoming XUV.e8 will offer a more familiar design with its ICE-powered XUV700 appeal and will cater to India’s premium market. New Spy images also suggest that the EV will offer several design elements resembling the automaker’s modern EV design language.
Not just the exterior, the carmaker has also made improvements inside the cabin, offering more premium appeal to its customers. The XUV.e8 will feature a gorgeous cabin with upscale materials and new dual displays with a digital cluster and a digital infotainment system, similar to its ICE-powered counterpart.
Along with the new cabin, the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 will also feature new materials and vegan leather upholstery options, offering more premium appeal. The cabin will be fitted with the advanced tech of Mahinddra’s new Arcade platform, offering seamless integration with the driver and the vehicle itself.
Performance & Price
Talking more about its performance, the XUV.e8 will feature new Volkswagen-sourced NGLO skateboard architecture built dedicatedly for electric vehicles. The new vehicle features a large 80kWh battery capable of delivering a driving range of around 450-500 Km on a single charge. It will also feature a single or dual electric motor setup offering seamless power delivery, unlike any Mahindra SUV. The Mahindra XUV.e8 will start at around Rs. 30-25 Lakh (Ex-showroom) in India and will launch in early 2025.
