Ather Energy finally launched its much-awaited family electric scooter, the new Rizta
After months of rumours, spy images and leaks, Ather Energy launched its new Rizta electric scooter in India. The EV maker announced three products on their Community Day 24, on April 6th, 2024. Among them was the new Rizta electric scooter, aiming to diversify the brand’s portfolio into a new family E2W segment. The new Ather Rizta is more affordable, and practical, and offers almost everything from its gorgeous design and appalling specs sheet.
New Design, More Comfort, & Practicality
Ather’s new Rizta electric scooter offers a boxy and rounded design with a well-built body and symmetrical rectangle lines all over, distinguishing itself from the 450 lineups. The scooter is completely newly designed from its chassis and frame, extending it to accommodate the industry’s largest seat in any two-wheeler to provide tech-rich and comfort-first features. The e-scooter is aimed at practicality and can easily accommodate two adults with luggage and offers a boot space of a staggering 56 litres. The company will provide a ton of accessories with the new Rizta from its front storage organiser to underseat storage bag to offer more practicality.
New Features
From its feature sets, the new Ather e-scooter offers a lightweight design and is easy to handle, offering almost everything for everyone. The scooter provides a ton of new features depending upon the variant you get from a new TFT display with Atherstack 6, a more comfortable seating position, under seat charging point and accessories for more charging cables and its wireless helmet. The new Rizta also offers modern features from traction control, MagicTwist from the 450 Apex and many more.
Battery, Range & Performance
Ather Energy has launched the new Rizta in two variants, S and Z, offering different features according to their price bracket. The S gets a 2.9 kWh battery while the Z gets 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh battery pack options. Both offer a range of 105 Km and 123 Km according to Ather’s TrueRange. The scooter can achieve a top speed of 80 Km/h which is incredible considering the size of the electric scooter.
The company will offer a new Deepview display on the S variant just like the 450S, and offer the similar 450X’s TFT touch panel on the Z variants. New Rizta offers Zip and SmartEco modes, prioritizing both crazy performance and long range. It is available in 7 exciting colour options from glossy single tones to two-tone shades.
Price & Availability
Introductory prices for the Ather Rizta are Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the S, Rs 1.25 lakh for the 2.9kWh Z and Rs 1.45 lakh for the Z 3.7kWh. The Z variants get the backrest as standard fitment and come in 7 colours while it’s an optional extra on the S which only comes in 3 colours. Bookings are open at all authorised Ather dealerships while deliveries are slated to begin in July.
