Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest automaker when it comes to selling affordable and high-tech cars in the country. With a significant step towards its expansion, Maruti has several new electric vehicles lined up for its new India portfolio. It includes 6 brand-new EVs, the automaker plans to launch by 2030. This new strategy includes several new EVs in various segments, body types and price ranges from affordable to premium. Similarly, the brand expects over 15% of total sales to be electric by the end of this decade.

The Japanese giant revealed its upcoming electric SUV, the eVX at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show. It came with Toyota’s new 27PL skateboard platform and packs a large 60 kWh battery, equipped to deliver a range of 550 Km on a single charge. Toyota’s upcoming Urban SUV also incorporates a similar platform alongside Suzuki. Both Toyota and Suzuki’s eVX will arrive in India in 2026.

The automaker is also developing a new company MPV inspired by the Spacia MPV sold in the Japanese market. Alongside, Maruti also plans to unveil a new SUV that will rival to newly launched Tata Punch EV and the upcoming Hyundai Exter EV. The upcoming micro SUV will be based on the eWX concept and will offer a stunning design, and comfort at an affordable price segment.

The newly launched off-roading SUV, Jimny will also receive a new electrified version in the future and will join Maruti Fronx electric soon. Maruti Suzuki is among India’s largest automakers in SUV sales and is planning to strengthen its visibility in the electric vehicle segment in the country. The automaker’s staggering sales of over 6,42,296 units alone in the SUV segment marks an enormous jump of over 75.42% YoY.

Maruti Suzuki’s newly designed hybrid tech will also come along with its new EV strategy that will dominate its position in the electric vehicle market. The automaker alongside Toyota will produce some of the most incredible electric cars with its collaboration and its in-house tech.
