Mahindra Will Launch 2 Brand New Electric SUVs in India This Year

Mahindra is set to launch its new XUV 3XO this month, followed by a range of electric SUVs in late 2024

Mahindra is an Indian carmaker which is known for its robust performance and durable design. Since the launch of the new XUV700 and the Scorpio N, the automaker has levelled up its game in designing innovative cars and pack the latest in technology.

With an effort in the EV sector, the brand is also focusing on developing new-age electric cars that are set for launch in the coming 5 years, making the brands EV revolution and its commitment to gain the most market share in the EV sector. The Indian auto giant is set to launch two brand new electric SUVs by this year that will compete with Tata and other carmakers. Let’s dig in.

1. Mahindra XUV.e8

The upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 was revealed few months back. It is based on Mahindra’s born-electric INGLO platform and is expected to debut by the end of 2024. It packs a large 80 kWh battery pack that will deliver a power output between 227-345 bhp. Mahindra will offer both two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations for this EV with its single and dual motor setups.

The near-production test mule of the XUV.e8 has been spotted in India several times. It reveales several design elements such as vertically stacked LED headlamps, full-width LED DRLs, new alloy wheels, and more. Inside, the XUV.e8 iwill feature a revised dashboard layout, a new two-spoke steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, a larger infotainment system as part of a new triple-screen setup, and a new gear selector.

2. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

Mahindra is set to launch the XUV3XO in the Indian market on April 29. The new 3XO will be a mid-life facelift update for the XUV300. The electrified version of the XUV300 is expected to be named the XUV 3XO EV. The XUV3XO-based EV will be based on the XUV300 Facelift.

It will feature a 35 kWh battery pack.which is capable of delivering a range of more than 300 km on a single charge. The upcoming 3XO will be positioned below the XUV400 in Mahindra’s lineup. The electric car will directly compete with the Tata Nexon EV and Citroen’s new eC3. The XUV3XO EV will debut by June this year, with an expected price of around Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
