The upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 is set to launch in December 2024
With the expanding EV landscape in India, several automakers have shifted their focus to making electric vehicles a part of their portfolio. One of them is Mahindra, known for its quality and high-built cars. The automaker showcased many of its upcoming electric cars poised to launch in the Indian EV market. After successfully launching its new updated XUV400 EV, the automaker is set to launch its next EV in the market, the Mahindra XUV e8.
The upcoming XUV.e8 will be based on its ICE-powered sibling, the XUV700 and is set to offer incredible performance blended with a suite of tech-rich features and luxury driving. Design
The Mahindra XUV e8 will offer a familiar design that closely mirrors its ICE sibling, the XUV700. With subtle yet significant differences from the side profile, the new XUV.e8 looks almost identical. To differentiate, Mahindra has changed several bits for its EV model to portray it as a brand-new car starting with unique alloy wheels and exterior changes.
The front sports a new DRL (Daytime Running Light) design along the bonnet that overall forms an inverted L-shape giving the SUV a modern appeal. At the rear, the XUV.e8 will feature a connected taillight design that sets it as per current standards. Several reports suggest that the upcoming XUV.e8 will undergo several design and element changes compared to the prototype model.
Specifications: Power and Performance
The Mahindra XUV e8 electric will offer stunning performance and a magnificent driving experience as its ICE-powered sibling. The EV is set to offer two battery packs starting with a 60 kWh base pack and a top-spec 80 kWh option that will offer superior performance. It will be available in both front and all-wheel drive options.
The range figures are claimed at 450 Km on a single charge with fast charging abilities up to 175 kW. The vehicle can charge from 0-80% in just 30 minutes with the help of fast chargers. With these specifications, the XUV e8 will deliver impressive performance and range and will cater to the needs of both urban and long-distance drivers.
Features
Inside the Mahindra XUV.e8 packs a luxurious interior with massive screens from its digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment display. The automaker will offer everything from heated and ventilated seats to dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, and of course a large panoramic sunroof. The SUV, with its upscale interior, luxury cabin and several other high-tech features will deliver a comfortable driving experience.
More features include a new Heads-up display with AR, advanced connected features, a new navigation system, level 2 ADAS, electric seat adjustment with memory function, ventilated seats, a front trunk for additional storage, dual-zone climate control, a large panoramic sunroof, more.
Price and Launch
Mahindra’s flagship electric XUV will be the company’s first fully electric SUV that will make the brand’s entry into the luxury EV market. Mahindra is set to launch its new XUV.e8 in late 2024. The XUV.e8 electric will start at around Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom).
