Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch its next lineup of vehicles, starting with the XUV.e8
Mahindra is all set to unveil its second lineup of electric cars for the Indian market in the coming months. The Indian automaker is gearing up to launch its brand-new XUV.e8 based on its flagship XUV700 SUV. Mahindra’s upcoming EV is scheduled for the Q1 2025 and will be the first-ever model from the company’s XUV.e lineup. Based on the new INGLO platform, dedicated for electric vehicles, the Indian automaker is working on the final production-spec model that has been spotted several times on Indian roads during testing.
More investment to develop more advanced electric cars
Mahindra has committed an investment of Rs. 27,000 for the automotive division in the next three years. The automaker will use Rs. 14,000 Crore for ICE-powered vehicles and the rest Rs. 12,000 Crore for dedicated electric cars by MY2026-27. Mahindra will spend Rs. 8,500 Crore for developing SUVs while the rest will be focused on commercial vehicles. The Indian auto giant is also set to open its way into developing hybrid technology to cater the diverse needs of its customers.
Alongside electric vehicles, Mahindra hasn’t given up on its ICE-powered vehicles and will be working on them too. But instead of making similar ICE-powered vehicles, the automaker will develop improved tech to curb its carbon emissions. It will be working on developing more advanced platform that offers safety and efficiency. The company will also be working on its production line to cut down waiting periods and exhaust its past lot size to maximize production and sales.
Future of Mahindra – New Cars and EVs
Mahindra’s new advanced INGLO architecture will make its debut with the XUV.e8. It is set to offer increased efficiency, more range, and better thermal control compared to Mahindra’s current EVs. The automaker is set to launch 9 new ICE-powered SUVs, 7 electric cars, and 7 LCVs.
In August 2024, Mahindra will unveil the five-door variant of the Thar, with the next-generation Bolero also in pipeline. The automaker will also launch its BE range starting with the BE.05 which will be a successor to the XUV.e8. And with the XUV.e9 and additional BE range models on the horizon, Mahindra projects to gain a significant market share in the Indian EV industry.
