Kia India is planning to launch 3 new EVs, with 1 e-MPV and 2 EVs
Kia India is gearing up to expand its domestic product lineup in Indai by introducing two electric SUVs and an electric MPV. The automaker plans to launch a total of three new electrified models by 2025. The new strategic move aims to set the brands presence in the Indian market in both electric and ICE-powered vehicles offering the blend of both powertrain options to cater the diverse need of Indian customers. 1. Kia Clavis EV
Kia to also launch its Clavis model in both ICE and EV flavours in India soon. The model has been spotted during testing several times in both India and global markets. It is scheduled to launch in India by 2025 and will sport both rugged powerless and several other cues inspired by the Soul hatchback from Kia. The upcoming Clavis will offer both spacious design and offer large boot space options, adding to its practicality and will compete with the Mahindra Thar, and the Suzuki Jimny.
While it will not offer the rugged off-road experience as the two, but will offer enough appeal and driving dynamics to counter any obstacle with ease. The upcoming Kia Clavis is set to offer incredible new features and design elements aligning with the new Seltos and the Sonet facelifted models launched a while ago. The Clavis EV will be positioned above the Sonet and will compete with the Tata Punch.ev, Nexon EV MR, and the Citroen eC3.
2. Kia Carens EV
Kia is expected to launch its electrified MPV based on its Carens model. The upcoming vehicle will be set as a family-fouced e-MPV, offering both space and comfort for all your needs. It will offer practical 3rd-row seating with ample amount of cargo space along with an upscale cabin fitted with premium materials. Hyundai’s new partnership with the Indian company Exide will forge a new series of EVs, starting with Kia’s Clavis EV followed by the Carens EV. The upcoming Carens EV is set to launch in India by the second half of 2025.
3. Kia EV9
Kia unveiled the production-spec version of its EV9 electric SUV in 2023 which is stated for India launch very soon. The EV9 is the company’s best work yet, starting its future EV lineup with the best amount of design and performance the brand has to offer. The EV9 will be directly imported to the Indian market via CBU route and is due for early 2025 launch. It features multiple powertrain options from a single motor RWD to a dual motor AWD variant offering up to 379 hp of power.
The EV9 offers a range of 541 Km on a single charge and comes with plethora of features such as ADAS, OTA updates, and many more. It is based on Kia’s new E-GMP architecture and comes with fast charging abilities, offering both performance and innovative design and technology inside.
