Upcoming Kia Clavis EV to Launch This Year in India

Kia is gearing up to launch its new Clavis EV in India in the second half of 2024. Spired during testing, the upcoming Clavis EV has been seen for quite a while in recent months. It will sit above the Sonet subcompact SUV and below the Kia Seltos in the company’s lineup. According to several reports, Kia is set to launch both ICE-powered and EV variants in India, as both models have been spotted while testing in India in the past few months.

Talking about the design the upcoming Clavis will feature vertically stacked headlights with LED DRLs, a sculpted hood with roof rails and new allow wheels on the front. Interestingly both EV and ICE-powered models look identical with no changes except for the powertrain options.

At the rear, the upcoming Kia Clavis features similar vertically stacked taillights with several design changes to make it appealing but differentiating from both Sonet and Seltos models with its boxier appeal. Kia may also offer subtle changes at the rear, making it easier to spot between EV and ICE models.

Interior & Technology

In terms of features, Kia offers its best-in-class interior with high-tech features and innovative latest technology with its Clavis EV. The automaker is known for its state-of-the-art and high build cabin with incredible build, offering both premium appeal and comfort. Whether it’s the seats or the material choices, Kia offers with its cars.

The Korean giant will offer several exclusive colours and different theme options. The feature list includes panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ADAS, ventilated seats, front parking sensors, and more. Kia will also have several options that will make its EV and ICE vehicles different from each other.

The upcoming Kia Clavis EV will feature a single electric motor with two battery sizes, the base model will offer a 25kWh battery with over 315 Km range. While the long-range model will offer a 35kWh battery that will deliver a driving range of 421 km. The upcoming Clavis EV will compete with the newly launched Tata Punch.ev and the upcoming Citroen eC3. It will feature many advanced regen technology and more that will make it an ideal EV for car buyers.

The ICE-powered variant will offer a potential new powertrain while keeping the engine from the Sonet and the Carens with more improved efficiency and performance. Equipped with both IMT, Automatic and Manual transmission options, the Clavis ICE model will offer a great price for performance for its segment.
