2025 Porsche Macan EV India Launch
The new Macan EV is Porsche’s first electric SUV, marking its presence with a superior design sculpted with precision to deliver the most from Porsche’s athletic driving and spirited performance. The e-SUV features state-of-the-art tech with a large battery and a new platform. The automaker plans to launch more affordable models from the range in India this year.
A new Macan variant is in the works
According to several reports, Porsche is also developing a mid-range 4S variant of the new Macan EV with 500 hp that will sit between the Turbo and the entry-level 4 trims in the range. The automaker plans to unveil its new variant soon. With a new price tag and more infused electrification, the Macan EV is no longer the entry-level variant in the lineup.
Porsche plans to kill its ICE-powered model and further make electric-only models to meet the regulations to sustain their production. Porsche will discontinue its Macan S and GTS models that offer a turbo-four 2.0-litre engine. But not in India as the country has no such regulation concerns as of now, the German giant will sell its cars after their global discontinuation.
The Macan will no longer be affordable
Although there is no timeline as to when Porsche will kill its ICE-powered Macan, the SUV is currently the brand’s entry-level car to experience the Porsche lineup. But after the launch of the new Macan EV, the price segment will reach sky-high, making the Macan no longer its affordable entry-level option. Until that happens, customers and Porsche enthusiasts can still buy their Macan SUV and experience the thrill and joy of driving a Porsche.
